Driving Safety Forward: Practical Training that Protects Students

Safe school transportation begins with well-prepared bus drivers. The OSC offers focused safety training led by Jon Karl, an experienced OSC Safety Consultant who works directly with districts to strengthen bus driver preparedness and safety practices.

Training covers critical safety areas, including emergency procedures, student behavior management, defensive driving, and thorough pre-trip inspections. Sessions are grounded in real-world scenarios, reinforcing safe decision-making and consistent practices on every route.

To meet district needs, training is delivered on-site and scheduled around staff availability, allowing transportation teams to participate without disrupting daily operations. This flexible approach, which has already served nearly 2,000 bus drivers to date, ensures districts receive high-quality instruction while keeping buses running safely and efficiently.
