Working Together, Saving Big: What’s Ahead in the 2024–25 OSC Annual Report

OSC Programs Continue to Deliver Exceptional Value for Schools

What happens when schools join forces for smarter purchasing? The results are impressive—and we’re giving you a sneak peek.

Preliminary highlights from the forthcoming 2024–25 Ohio Schools Council Annual Report reveal that member districts are continuing to see substantial financial benefits through cooperative programs. These savings are helping schools reinvest in classrooms, enhance student services, and support staff—all without raising additional local funds.

Some of the most significant savings are coming from longstanding energy programs, including electricity and natural gas, with additional impact delivered through transportation, insurance, and facilities initiatives. In fact, several member districts have already reached milestone savings well into seven figures.

This year, we’re excited to introduce a new recognition: the Million Dollar Club—a special spotlight on districts that have saved more than $1 million through OSC participation.

Smaller and newer members are also seeing major benefits. For some, the savings per student are among the highest across the state—proof that size doesn’t limit impact. And for new members, the returns are arriving fast, with some recouping tens or even hundreds of thousands within their first year.

“These numbers aren’t just about dollars—they represent real change and real opportunity for our students,” said Chad Welker, Director of Business Services at OSC. “They highlight the power of collective action and smart decision-making.”
