COPS Grant – School Violence Prevention Program (SVPP)

Amount: Up to maximum $500,000 federal share; requires local cost share match of at least 25%.  Each award is three years in duration.

Application Deadlines:

  • JustGrants Submission Deadline: August 11, 2026

Grant Information: SVPP funding is available for programs/services that increase coordination with law enforcement.  This includes:

  • Training for local law enforcement officers to prevent student violence against others and self
  • Placement and use of metal detectors, locks, lighting, and other deterrent measures
  • Acquisition and installation of technology for expedited notification of local law enforcement during an emergency
  • Any other measures that, in the determination of the COPS Office Director, may provide a significant improvement in security
