Workers' Compensation Program
It's Official! Ohio Schools Council and Sheakley Announce Partnership
As you may be aware, the Ohio Schools Council (OSC) has partnered with Sheakley to administer OSC's workers' compensation group rating program. This partnership will allow the OSC and Sheakley to continue to offer public schools a competitive option for their workers' compensation and unemployment administration. We believe that Sheakley brings OSC members an unmatched level of expertise, competitive administrative fees and personalized customer service. This is yet another commitment by the OSC to "savings schools dollars."
As one of the four largest third party administrators in the state, Sheakley works to reduce the cost of workers' compensation premiums and helps to maximize financial returns through various BWC sponsored programs, including the Drug Free Workplace Program and the 100% Capping Program.
Additionally, Sheakley's in-house staff of safety experts provide "how to" consultation for accident reporting and investigation including OSHA and DOT consultation and compliance training. Their team also provides on-site customized walk-throughs, drug and alcohol awareness training and development, evacuation training, and CRP/first aid training, among others.

OSC + Sheakley Workers' Comp and
Health & Safety Programs = a Winning Equation!
Now more than ever, with new BWC rule changes, it is important to have someone guiding you through your workers’ comp program and looking out for your best interests. During these uncertain times, a strong focus on aggressive claims management, comprehensive safety programs and financial analysis are increasingly critical to the success of your school district’s workers’ compensation program. Sheakley, OSC’s administrator for Ohio workers’ compensation, has been in the business of saving employers money on workers’ comp for 46 years.
Workers’ Compensation Programs
OSC’s group rating program can help schools keep money where it matters – in their budgets. Administered by Sheakley, group rating is the BEST way to save on your Workers’ Comp premium. As an added benefit, when choosing Sheakley as your third party administrator (TPA) you also receive Unemployment Cost Control services at no additional cost. Plus Sheakley can also help districts get back on track for future group rating participation through aggressive claims management and BWC sponsored discount programs.
Health & Safety Programs
The BWC sponsors discount programs such as those that promote drug free workplace environments, Safety Council and Retrospective Rating which offer savings for those districts not eligible for group rating. Sheakley can help manage these discount programs by enabling you to reduce accident frequency, severity of injuries, and ultimately your total cost of workers’ compensation. As a school official, the safety of your students and staff is of the utmost importance. With this in mind Sheakley Health and Safety Services now offers CPR/AED and First Aid Training. It is important to have your staff trained in the event of an emergency at your school. Sheakley’s courses prepare an individual to recognize and respond to an emergency situation. As you know this training is extremely beneficial for bus drivers as they are required by law to have certification in CPR, First Aid and Blood Borne Pathogen (BBP). Visit Sheakley.com for information about upcoming regional class dates. On-site training is also available.Explore your options to reduce workers’ comp costs for the upcoming year.
