School Bus Purchasing
The Ohio Schools Council has been securing school bus bids for our members for over ten years, with the number of districts participating and units bid continuously increasing. Savings average $1,500 per unit.
Through the Council’s bid process, districts specify the type of bus they wish to purchase, along with necessary options. The school bus purchasing committee is kept informed about changes in industry by communicating with local authorized dealers. This information is then passed along to the participating districts for their information. Meetings are held with the participating districts to assist them throughout this bid process. Each school district receives a bid tailored specifically to their requested unit or units from the participating vendors. Districts then review the bids received and make the determination from whom they will purchase. Districts also have the option of trading in their older buses on the purchase of the new.
